Service Description
The advantageous location of the Ranelagh Club is the perfect place for outdoor group training, with the option of wading in the bay after a sweaty session. When we are in nature, it is easier to slip into an elevated state of mind. The salty breeze of any early morning training session by the Bay, it’s our senses anchor us to the ‘now’ and creates a sense of connection to our natural environment and calm. Learn about the added benefits of water therapy and how a salty swim can improve immunity; reduce inflammation, aid muscle recovery and much more. Included in the classes at the end, these are optional for those who may just want to dip their toes in, or the more adventurous immerse their body for the full benefits which is discussed. Group Training sessions bring more than the physical element of training, but offer knowledge to help clients understand why what, how of Movement, Nutrition and practising mindfulness to reduce stress, ease anxiety and improve not only their mood but their immunity, the benefits of nature and ‘earthing’ to reduce inflammation and much more. BRING: Towel, drink bottle, bathers Benefits of training outdoors: • Increased fitness adaptations and results • Increased mental stimulation- nature is the ultimate stress/anxiety reliever • Nature sounds are relaxing; waves, water, birds • Sync into nature circadian rhythm with early morning sun exposure (sans the harmful UV and sunscreen in your eyes) and fresh air • Space • Promotes mindfulness; conditions can change so we must accept (cancelled in event of severe weather warnings) Benefits of water therapy: • Improved cognitive function; memory, concentration, creative problem solving • Promotes deeper breathing, removing stagnant air (and thoughts) • Promotes circulation (once you get out of water) • Increased capacity for healing, muscle recovery • Reduce in inflammation • Assists with weight loss • Build mental resistance through incremental exposure to cold/ to the unease of cold If you do not wish to swim, you are invited to go barefoot and dip your toes in as we discuss the benefits of earthing and cold water therapy. ** In the event of inclement weather, there is availability for indoor training small groups at the tennis club ** Minimum of 3 people required to run the class.
