About the Event

Shan & I (Mands) have teamed up with Mornington Peninsula locals, Nic & Shanti from Wild Adventures Melbourne to bring you a mindful morning exploring the best of our beautiful backyard! From the trails to the water, let us guide your 'Ninch' experience.

The morning starts in the Seawinds gardens, Arthur’s Seat – ‘Wonga’, as it is known to the Bunurong people, the traditional custodians. A mindful, slower paced walk allows us to anchor through our senses to the natural environment creating a calming effect. The informative walk guides you through eco-therapy practices and teaches you why nature is the ultimate healer for body, mind, and spirit.

Our walk takes in the various scenic lookouts from the top of the 314m granite hill and through circuit trails. Take in views along the Mornington Peninsula coastline, and on a clear day across to the Bellarine Peninsula, the cityscape, You Yangs, and to Bass Strait.

The Seawinds garden is home to many Australian native animals, many of whom we may come across on our walks such as Kangaroos, koalas, kookaburras, and wrens and if looking to the sky, we might just see the resident wedge-tail eagles soar above. The perspective shifts as we descend the stone staircase of the Bunurong track, stopping to tune into nature's soundtrack, onto Latrobe Parde, and to the water's edge.

We arrive at the beach to meet the WAM crew (Wild Adventures Melbourne) where they will have a delicious breakfast ready full of fresh local produce of fresh organic fruit, Mornington Peninsula Granola, locally baked bread, native tea, and locally roasted coffee whilst enjoying the ocean views. The WAM vehicle is also available to get changed from your hiking gear into SUP attire!

Refuelled from breakfast it's time for a must-do activity on the Peninsula, a Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) adventure along the majestic waters of Port Phillip Bay (Nerm/Nairm) keeping an eye out for the local pods of dolphins and with the backdrop, a stunning white sandy beach adorned with the famous colourful bathing boxes. Your guide is a certified SUP instructor and will give you all the necessary pointers and safety instructions before we get on the water.

We will be on the water for around an hour to an hour and a half exploring the coastline which is ample time to fall in love with the world's fastest-growing watersport as well as enjoy the stunning vistas of the coastline and Arthurs Seat (Wonga). Please note: if the weather and wind are not suitable we may select an alternative location to paddle.

After your SUP experience, you have time to get changed before we hop onto the WAM van (which we have renovated to feel like an awesome eco-retreat) and cruise back to the top of Arthurs Seat to drop you back to your vehicles at Seawinds Gardens where you began your epic morning adventure.
