Meet Training Hike's younger sibling. These recovery sessions are more stretch, breath, and cold plunge than climb, push, and pant of the training hikes. Building a strong body and mind requires a holistic approach to rest and recovery. Learn more when you attend these bite-size classes.

About the Event

The purpose of the Recovery Sessions are to remind you to slow down, stretch, and breathe into a holistic approach to rest and recovery for a balanced body and mind. 

Learn more about the therapeutic benefits of cold water immersion for muscle recovery, mental strength, and metabolic booster. How cold water exposure can help alleviate anxiety and depression and support your well-being. 

These bite-sized classes are 40-60mins (depending on the weather) and what they lack in time they make up in education, and a fast, effective immersive experience.  An ideal way to learn recovery and injury prevention/ healing techniques, with a hiking-specific trainer. 

Ideal for those participating in the HIKE FIT program, have a larger or multi-day hike booked, and for recovery approaches to their fitness journey.  Lessons are structured around the learnings in the HIKE FIT PROGRAM and are perfect for anyone wanting better body/ mind connection and function. 

These sessions are designed for you to pick your brain on all things training, pack-hiking/camping, nutrition, recovery, mindset, and nature.

Various locations throughout the Mornington Peninsula and future dates will be added each month.

  • Barefoot beach walk - an educational experience
  • Mindfulness techniques to carve balance with the tools you have at your disposal 
  • Nutritional food for thought 
  • Movement and recovery - stretching styles and techniques
  • Cold water plunge - mind over matter & why we do it


  • Registration is required as numbers are capped to 10 max (more intimate) and any communication can be direct
  • By registering, I am aware of any injuries or health notes to safely ensure that you can participate
  • We may stop for lunch/ drinks afterward so bring some money (at your own cost)
  • Subject to cancellation based on severe weather - where possible a replacement day will be scheduled
  • Meet on location 10mins prior to hike departure. Any late arrivals/no-shows will forfeit the fee


7TH MAY 9 am - approx  40 mins (barefoot beach walks, stretching, warm-up, breathwork, and cold plunge) 

Dromana Beach - out front of the SLSC - Parking available in the IGA carpark - opposite side of road.
