About the Event

Join us for a day of hiking along the sandy beaches and sheer cliff tops of the Mornington Peninsula’s stunning Coastal Track from Cape Schanck to the beautiful Gunnamatta Surf Beach and back along Fingal Beach.

Arriving at the Fingal Picnic area, this walk takes you back to nature with a peaceful native bush track beneath the Moonah trees featuring incredible beach lookouts above the rugged coastline, an abundance of wildlife, and sweeping views of the historic Cape Schanck lighthouse, as well as along the Bass Strait coastline. The main track winds through dense coastal vegetation before dropping down through sand dunes onto the eastern end of the popular Gunnamatta Surf Beach where we loop back around along the isolated and tranquil Fingal Beach with its soaring basalt cliffs. A stair climb back up the cliffs will get your heart pumping before we settle for a nourishing lunch back at the Fingal picnic area under the shade of tall Pine trees.

An easy-moderate graded 10km hike, incorporating mindfulness and conversation with a slower pace to allow for connection and appreciation of the picturesque views & energy of the coastal panorama. The slow pace will see us complete a circuit from Cape Schanck to Gunnamatta Beach and back up through Fingal Beach taking about 4 hours with breaks and lunch.

Relax post-hike with Megan at Studio Paradise in nearby St. Andrews Beach. Stretch out and explore your body with a restorative yoga session infused with Yoga Tune Up® therapy balls to self-massage. Discover new ways to move better, breathe better and feel better in your body during this 2-hour yoga-inspired workshop.

MEET: Fingal Picnic Area car park - park near the toilet block as we will return to the loop trail here

BRING: 1L + water, adequate layers/ clothing, any medication, change of clothes for yoga (optional)

EXPECT: An all-inclusive day of nature therapy hikes, nourishing picnic lunch, snacks, and yoga workshops

No experience is necessary. The slow-paced hike is achievable for base-level fitness.
