About the Event

Great Ocean Walk- Section #2 Blanket Bay to Johanna Beach

Explore the majestic Great Ocean Walk and its stunning coastal landscapes and iconic beaches. This weekend's escape takes in the picturesque GOW section between Blanket Bay to Johanna Beach. An all-inclusive trip, including pickup/drop-off, designed to educate and empower. Carrying what you need on your pack, our adventure tours will give you the confidence to explore more outdoor!

Day 1 – An early morning pick-up from various locations in Melbourne, our tour bus heads to Blanket Bay where we head off on our first-day hike. Today’s adventure starts with an easy-moderate 11km walk along coastal trails and heathlands, past the Cape Otway Lighthouse, and into Cape Otway Great Ocean Walk Campsite for night 1. A peaceful location to unwind after a first day, raising your gaze up to spot the resident Koalas nestled among twisted Manna Gum trees.

Day 2- Rising with the sun, enjoy a camp side breakfast with the group, before packing up and following the diverse trail as it cuts through the coastal sand dunes, scrubs, and rugged cliffs. A moderate 10km hike into the Aire River Campsite, taking breaks as required and soaking up the picturesque vista as the sunsets.

Day 3 - A longer day hike of 13km, however more rewarding with the trail taking us through the diverse coastal landscape and along the iconic and beautiful Johanna Beach. Experience the majestic ocean energy pull and try to spot the Peregrine Falcons flying high in the sky above the sea-spray. A river crossing this day will be approached at low tide and barefoot, deepening our connection to the epic coastal region before we board the bus at Johanna Beach Carpark and back to civilization, brimming with exhilaration and accomplishment.
