FALLS TO HOTHAM ALPINE HIKE

With the fresh alpine air filling your lungs we traverse the trail from Falls creek to Hotham among the spring wildflowers.

A 30+km hike over 3 days we will wind our way along alpine ridges through snow gum woodlands and grassy plains, over rocky summits, past historic huts, with unsurpassed views of the spectacular Victorian Alpine range.  By night, the thousands of sparkling stars are set against some of the darkest skies you will ever see.

Challenging terrain will test your mental aptitude, we hike in all-weather to build strength, and resilience, and to empower through collective comradery and fortify your sense of accomplishment. Of course, there will be rest stops to enjoy the terrain we cover.

A training guide is available in addition to the option to attend training hikes (free) to ensure that adequate fitness requirements are met.

Whilst the days cover no more than 14km, the trail is undulating and packs add to the resistance. There are plenty of breaks, and time to wind down; however, having a good level of fitness will ensure enjoyment for yourself and the entire group.

The trail is divided into three legs as follows:

Day 1: Falls Creek to Cope Hut, 7km

Highlights include lookouts historic Wallace Hut, and Cope Hut - and lined trails of pink, gold, and white wildflowers in summer.

Day 2: Cope Hut to Dibbins Hut, 14km

Stunning panoramas from Pole 333 and unforgettable views of Mount Feathertop, Victoria's second-highest mountain.

Day 3: Dibbins Hut to Mt Hotham, 9km

Waking in the foggy Valley and climbing out to the most breathtaking panoramas as far as the eye can see on the final walk to Mt Hotham.
