POINT NEPEAN NATIONAL PARK

Service Description

Discover the therapeutic benefits of spending time outdoors, mindfulness concepts and the role of nutrition for optimal holistic health; A nature hike with a difference. This hike explores the very tip of the Mornington Peninsula, the Point Nepean National Park, past the old Quarantine Station, World War Two military defenses, along coastal and bush tracks. The 14.5km hike will take you past war relics and rugged coastlines to Point Nepean taking in views of the Bellarine Peninsula. With Bass Straight on one side & Port Philip Bay on the other, this approx. 4 hr return coastal walk is a great way to explore our history of the Mornington Peninsula. On route to Pt Nepean and the treacherous waters of the rip, we pass Cheviot Beach where ex-Prime Minister Harold Holt disappeared in 1967, a number of gun turrets & Fort Nepean. There’s plenty to explore on this epic coastal walk. Undulating hills and sandy trails provide a challenging but achievable workout. Taking rest at the Fort Nepean as we walk through historic tunnels before returning along to the Quarantine station. • Start/Finish: Meeting at the Quarantine station carpark • Distance: 14.5km return • Time: Approx 4 hrs.
