NIGHT HIKES

Gain a different perspective and experience a sensory awakening

  • 25 Australian dollars
  • Cape Schanck Lighthouse Carpark

Service Description

Mornington Peninsula-based night hikes explore the sunset to dark transition to allow a deeper understanding of Nature. Watch the world come alive with activity as you delve deep into a sensory awakening experience. (Scroll to bottom for dates and location) As our sense of sight is restricted, it paves that way for our others senses to become heightened. Hearing, smell, touch, taste, and feeling; all aroused and anchor us to the present moment, essentially cultivating a deeper sense of mindfulness through engaging our senses. Traversing the local trails from a night-time perspective adds variety and excitement to the familiar. In this way, Nature at night can teach us about how to apply Mindfulness through an immersive experience that highlights our non-dominant sensors. Walking in the moonlight engages all senses and brings a level of alertness to the forefront. In teaching ourselves to remain calm by the startling of rustling bushes or movement of shadows, in the safety of a group, we can learn to discard the imaginative mind play that our ego produces to cultivate a sense of calm, appreciate, and beauty of all things nature. Nature Immersion allows us to tap into the innate healing, the internal knowing, to create a sense of well-being, reduce anxiety and depression and provide stress relief to our busy lifestyles. The many benefits of Nature Immersion are discussed and guided practices to promote your primal connection to nature. Each hike will be approx. 90 mins. Please note- all participants are sent an email confirming meeting location and equipment required 24 hours prior to walk. WHAT TO BRING • Head torch/hand-held torch.
